Although only 5 minutes drive from Norwich city centre Eaton's undulating nature affords fine views of the south Norfolk countryside from many holes. Still on its original site the club was founded in 1910 and was extended to 18 holes by four times Open champion J H Taylor in 1912. Although altered many times since then this quiet parkland course still provides a trur test of golf envisaged by Taylor all those years ago. The clubhouse built in 1921 has a warm and friendly atmosphere with the bar open from mid morning each day offering drinks and wide range of snacks and hot meals. The professional shop is a separate building and offers a range of equipment and clothing as well as tuition for members and visitors. |
